Friday, April 9th - PM. Please note: This class includes cutting and sticking, so please only book your child in for this activity if they can cut independently. Welcome to a world of whiskers and watercolours! In this playful mixed-media workshop, young artists will breathe life into an adorable 3D Bunnies, blending rustic charm with a splash of modern colour. This project is all about exploring the magic of different materials to create a character that practically hops off the page. We’ll begin by designing vibrant, striped sweaters using fluid watercolor washes, teaching children how to let colours bleed and meld into a bright, luminous gradient. Once our "knitwear" is dry, we’ll move on to the character-building phase. Using earthy kraft cardstock as our base, students will practice mark-making techniques—using fine-liner pens to create rhythmic dashes and stippled patterns that mimic the soft texture of a bunny’s fur. The fun really begins with the finishing touches. From painting rosy, glowing cheeks to cutting out long, expressive ears, every child will have the chance to give their bunnies a unique personality. We’ll even add a bit of 3D paper engineering by crafting delicate paper whiskers that stand out from the face, giving these festive friends a truly professional, hand-crafted look. It’s a wonderful opportunity for kids to develop their fine motor skills and colour theory knowledge while creating a whimsical set of decorations perfect for a bedroom wall or a festive mantelpiece. General workshop notes: As the session is 2.5 hours long, students will probably want to bring a water bottle and a snack to enjoy mid-session, to keep them sustained. It is also a good idea to send your child in clothes that they do not mind getting paint on, just in case! Don't forget: If you book both sessions in one day, you get the lunch hour for free!
